IBS trains and certifies residential energy efficiency professionals using specialized testing equipment. Learn how to target, diagnose, and solve household performance problems such as mold, mildew, ice dams, and drafts, using diagnostic equipment such as the blower door and the combustion analyzer to ensure systems are functioning together correctly to maximize home performance, comfort, energy efficiency, safety and durability.
The IBS program is aligned with Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst Professional standards for energy auditing and provides instruction for energy efficiency analysis using the house-as-a-system approach.
Working with a BPI certified energy auditor gives homeowners extra assurance that the professional meets the national written and hands-on field exam standards of the Building Performance Institute.
